Would have been cuter with "Live Long and Paw-sper."

Re: Ken's book on Sierra

Just received Shawn Mills' "The Sierra Adventure" book in PDF & EPUB format, soon to be followed by soft- and hard-cover releases. With all of the praise it's received, especially from former Sierra employees, I can't to wait to read it! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/klytos/the-sierra-adventu...

Happy Dad's day! :)

In honour of dad's everywhere ... what is black and white and red all over?

A newspaper.

*runs away really fast* ;)
Nope. A zebra with a sunburn. 8-)

"Old Man" you should recognize... since Collector uses it as his avatar. From Doctor Brain.
???

(I believe Fenrus would like to have a word with you about Collector's avatar; it's not the same character you're thinking of...)

Re: What's this? A piece of paper on the Cliffs of Logic?

Looks like you purchased something else unrelated to KQ6 along with the game (which was the $49.99 -- don't think you got KQ6 for $7.95 at that time ;) ). So, on its own with the 7.75% state sales tax (+$3.87), the total cost of KQ6 was $53.86. Using a single commodity -- especially a somewhat 'vola...

Re: QFG Map in my QFGIV Box.

I look forward to QfG (except QfG2? With the city map thing?) - because honestly, there's a lot there I don't remember. (And I can't even remember ever playing QfGV, I am sure I have, since I have it, but I have zero memory of it). So I'd like to see if I can save my character and import them all t...

Re: QFG Map in my QFGIV Box.

This is incredible. I never heard of GEM DRAW. Everything was always graph paper. GEM was awesome -- we had it on our first IBM Clone (sorry, showing my age) in the late 1980s as I was starting college. Joining Microsoft and Apple in the mid-'80s GUI craze, Digital Research launched GEM ["Graphics ...

Re: QFG Map in my QFGIV Box.

And here is my old map, made using the GEM DRAW app for GEM 3.13 for DOS:

(I still have the orginal GEM DRAW files for QFG1, QFG2, and QFG4, rescued from oblivion thanks to DOSBox)

Re: Dynamix games: GM vs MT

I don't know if this helps, but I use GM whenever it's an option. Since Windows native MIDI isn't very good, I use VirtualMIDISynth with a sound font instead. That's a pretty good way of looking at it. My concern was that there might be some games composed using MT but might not sound as good with ...

Dynamix games: GM vs MT

While searching for which MIDI option would be most optimum for various Sierra games, this topic entry was quite helpful: http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=1461#p19067 I'm assuming the transition went like this: 1. In the beginning: music composed specifically for MT since GM did...

Re: AGI Art for non-Sierra games

Incidentally, Goatmeal, I used your Space Quest 3 title font for one of my 4k SQ3 backgrounds. Very helpful for quick authenticity! Actually, you know I never thought about it then, but if you like I can give you credit for that. No need for credit, MI. You made some wonderful backgrounds, and I'm ...
