Re: Did anyone else pick up Disney+ Streaming?

Quite a bit of a line up... Day 1... 639 different things... That blew me away when I saw it a couple days ago. Despite the censorship, it's a pretty amazing library. I love that they've included all the old Medfield College movies and the whole Disney Afternoon. And I just realized most of the 20t...

Re: How cool is this?

Nice! We have a place like that in Vancouver called Catfe. They bring in friendly cats from the animal shelter to mingle with humans while they have coffee and lunch. And all the cats are for adoption too. I haven't been inside yet, because there's a 3-5 hour queue whenever I walk by. But I gather t...

Re: The "Too Many Games, Not Enough Time" Problem.

Definitely too many games on my end. I like picking up freebies and grabbing really cheap deals, but my daddy duties come first and I only get through a handful a year. It's the same with TV too - I have no shortage of shows to eventually catch up on.

Re: Question re: SQ series

Play all of them! It's Sierra, so take the good with the bad and see what happens. Worst case scenario, you get stuck on an exploding dynamite timer bug in one of them. As for those last two, they're always free, and I can give you my honest, unbiased opinion that they are the second greatest games ...

Re: What are you playing now?

I've been playing "LEGO Batman 3" with my son these past couple days (free on the Epic Games store this week!) These games are super-fun, great for two players, and I highly recommend almost any of the LEGO games if the kid in you wants to break some bricks and enjoy some goofy fan-service.

Re: Steam and GOG sales

Epic Games is giving away the Batman Arkham Trilogy, plus the LEGO Batman Trilogy for free. This seems like their biggest giveaway so far, and it's starting to feel like there's a catch, so take it with a grain of salt. Otherwise, you can have six mostly great Batman games for free this week.

Re: Describe the least-appealing game

-You play as a masked, voiceless figure indistinguishable from a typical henchman. -On your way to the first mission, you accidentally trigger and get trapped in a 10-hour side-quest which later turns out to be a DLC. -Every mini-game is a "Simon Says" puzzle where you memorize ever-longer sequences...

They were actually slated for a series of original releases these last few years, but most got pushed to 2020 and 2021. It might be that the Fox buy-out and the development of Disney+ changed their schedule.

Re: A question - and a little fun...

Wouldn't that make every Star Trek movie past the first a cash grab? Every Star Wars movie past A New Hope? If you define any sequel or guaranteed money-maker as a "cash grab", that's fair. It's always easier to greenlight a movie when it's part of a successful brand. And there's nothing wrong with...

Re: A question - and a little fun...

Oh, I am only explaining my take on what Disney's doing. I could be wrong. It could be a blatant cash grab. Oh, it is 100% a cash grab. These have all been beat-for-beat remakes with a couple new songs and some plot extensions tossed in. They've offered little to no fresh takes on the original stor...

Re: Question about "The Witcher"...

Oh, dear ... and they all met in the pub!!! Or does the witcher only meet them when it's time for them to become relevant to the story? :? Typically, both. They appear when it's story-relevant, and you'll often run into them at a pub. A good example is a character named Dandelion. In the book...

Re: Question about "The Witcher"...

A lot of events and choices in the first game don't carry over to the second. Anything important will get revisited and shown again. You can read a summary somewhere if you want the details, but it's still a great game worth visiting. One thing that might throw you off in the second game are all the...

Re: Question about "The Witcher"...

They're worth playing if you like fantasy role-playing. The gameplay is generally hack-and-slash, with a few gimmicks like potion mixing and magic systems built in. But the overall experience is more "Dragon Age" than "Diablo". It's very story-oriented, with a lot of morality choices built into the ...
