Re: Blue Force Question.

I'm not sure if that would help with the alt-tabbing. I've thought more about it, and I think it has happened with other emulators too. I think what happens is the program thinks that the ALT key is still being held down. Pressing ALT within the program usually seems to fix it.

Re: Blue Force Question.

Probably not specific to Blue Force - but I had it running in DOSBox - alt+tabbed to look at the walk thru (to get the proper police codes when stopping someone, so I don't have to go dig out the game to get the manual) - and when I tabbed back - all the text would FLY by like I was holding down th...

Re: Titanic: Adventure Out of Time

I wonder if my old Mac saves will work with the Windows version. I'm pretty sure my CD is hybrid Win/Mac. This is one of many games I never finished.

Re: Police Quest 3 CDROM?

You can hear fake Sonny Bonds' voice in SWAT 4. I don't know if he's supposed to be the same character or just an easter egg. He sounds nothing like how I'd imagine, though.

Re: Top 250 Movies

I think I was somewhere around 160. When I clicked save, I got an error message and it wiped my score. I probably could've added other movies, but I couldn't remember if I saw the whole movie or not. And I have several in my Netflix queue or DVR that I've been meaning to watch but haven't been in th...

Re: MGX

But keep in mind, this may be the only path to a new GK. I know, you're right. My opinion on remakes is more a philosophical one, like I said on Facebook. I can think of many good remakes, some even great, but it's the need for a remake to begin with that I don't understand. Yes, graphics and sound...

Re: Nominate Your Favorite Sierra Puzzles!

Conquests of Camelot: the riddle stones (I like riddles) King's Quest 3: defeating Manannan (lots of great puzzles, but that gives you such a sense of accomplishment and finally lets you relax) Police Quest 1 EGA: arresting Hoffman. (it's a tense scene where following proper police procedure saves y...

Nostalgic for me too. Makes me want to go back and play them again.

Re: BioWare writer quits after death threats to family

The senior writer on Dragon Age II has decided to leave developer BioWare after ‘graphic threats’ were made to kill her children. http://metro.co.uk/2013/08/16/bioware-writer-quits-after-death-threats-to-family-3925970/ You beat me to it. Was going to post it here since DPX had mentioned that very ...

question about who makes money off old games

Who makes money off old games that are rereleased today, like for example "King's Quest 1-3" for $9.99 on GOG? Does Robert Williams see any of that money? Does anyone else involved in the development get a cut? Or does it all go to Activision and GOG? I'm basically wondering if the original develope...

Re: Dragon Age III (Dragon Age Inquisition)

Baldur's Gate was excellent, probably the first more than the second. I don't think Irenicus was anything special. But I thought the games themselves were immersive for their time. I like RPGs where I can explore the countryside and cities and talk to tons of NPCs over dungeon crawling. It was littl...

Re: Dragon Age III (Dragon Age Inquisition)

I thought combat was like a cartoon in DA2. DA1's combat was much more satisfying. Moves felt like they had power and brutality behind them. Vicious finishing moves randomly happened. In DA2, enemies explode likes packets of tomato sauce, they drop from the sky like a 80s/90s brawler game, the moves...

Re: (I VGA) Cannot get into Henry the Hermit's cave!

I don't believe so. I think that you always run out of enough points that there is always at least a couple of skills that can't be added. Climbing is one of the ones that mages do not automatically have. Thieves can do everything. Just give them magic and parry, and you can do everything there is ...

Re: Dragon Age III (Dragon Age Inquisition)

I'll be wary of buying DA3. I thought DA1 was excellent but DA2 was a huge step back.
