Re: Torin's Passage.

I love this game. The "nested worlds" idea is a neat one, and adds a lot of variety to the "gamescape" -- not only do the lands differ, but so do the creatures and the people. Apparently Al was planning on creating multiple sequels to this game following Torin as he grows older. It's a shame this di...

Re: Any Fans of Woodruff and the Schnible?

You've just about got it. You just have to use the levitation power on the cross (at least, that's what worked for me). It took me a few tries, but that was what seemed to work.

Re: Favorite Gobliiins Game and Why?

I'd have to say Goblin's Quest 3, mostly because of the incredible variety not only of scenes, but of characters . I mean, how many other games let you control not only the main character and his various sidekicks, but also his love interest, his furry and violent alter ego, his shadow and his refle...

Vintage Sierra and Sierra Music Central should definitely be added to that list.

Re: The Longest Journey/Dreamfall

Like many others, I loved TLJ, and while Dreamfall was pretty impressive graphics-wise and seemed to have a lot of potential, it was still a bit of a letdown. It left me with even more questions than TLJ did, and answered virtually none of the questions from the end of TLJ. I also could have done wi...

Re: Do you like Ecoquest? Are they real adventures?

I played EQ2 first when I was thirteen and greatly enjoyed it, and it remains my favorite even today. The puzzles and the stories are integrated so well that it's easy to forget you're playing "edutainment" titles. Pepper's Adventures in Time is another underrated installment in the Sierra Discovery...

Re: Any Fans of Woodruff and the Schnible?

Yes, you have to use your levitation power to reach the portrait, but you have to use it in combination with something else to succeed (not the kite, though you're on the right track).

Re: Favorite Space Quest and why?

I'd have to say it's a tie between SQ4 and 6. The dialogue, humor, and various sci-fi references in both games are great, and though some of the puzzles in SQ4 were pretty hard, they weren't hard enough to drive me away. I'm also somewhat fond of 256-color SVGA, hence my appreciation for SQ6. I also...

Re: Any Fans of Woodruff and the Schnible?

I've played it. I liked the unusual graphics and sound effects, though the puzzles were pretty frustrating at times. In fact, there is one optional puzzle that even the Woodruff Universal Hint System file doesn't answer correctly: looking behind the Bigwig's portrait. It tells the player that the on...

Re: Favorite King's Quest game and why? (And yes, I will even...

I'd have to say KQ7, for a number of reasons. I loved the bright graphics, the animation and the varied whimsical lands, and it was the first time I played a game with dual protagonists. This game was also what motivated me to put some serious effort into learning to animate as well as drawing human...

Re: MoE, KQ or Not?

I haven't played MoE so I suppose I can't give a fair judgment of it, but from what I've heard and seen of it, it seems more like a spinoff of the KQ series than a true sequel (it's not called KQ8, after all). An interesting side note: the only other games that feature KQ characters speaking in Olde...
