Re: Today on "Dinosaur Comics..."

LOL! I love it. But what is Telix? I don't think I know that one. Telix used to be used for file transfers, before the web. Note the sub folder 'DL', presumably for 'download'. EDIT: I'm mis-remembering again. Telix was a terminal emulation program. XModem, YModem & ZModem were protocols used...

Re: Interested to learn reverse-engineering

Yes - that would work too. I re-read my post & I think I made it sound like some effort is needed to be put into creating a game before 're-engineering'. Not at all. I would just use the template game and compile it. Then make minor changes from there.

Re: Interested to learn reverse-engineering

It may also be helpful from a reverse engineering standpoint to create your own game using SCI Studio or Companion and then delve into the resource files. It wouldn't have to be a complex game, just use the included 'template' game. Then you could make very minor changes, recompile, and examine the ...

Re: 5.25" Drives on modern PC's

Yeah, I've got a pair of floppy drives that I'd love to set up externally, but all my searching on the internet for simple solutions came up with nothing.

For sure, reminds me of Edward Gorey too. I cannot recommend enough his 'Amphigorey' graphic novels. Great artwork, BBP! Those would be great in a quilt or poster or something.

Re: Remakes: How would you rather see them?

I'll put it this way. There should be sufficient deviation from the origional piece of work, otherwise what is the point in recreating or replaying it? Edit: I probably didn't answer the graphical part of the question. I'd say change it radically, the graphics seem to be what people best relate to. ...

Re: Remakes: How would you rather see them?

Completely re-imagined.

I've tried 3 times to quantify this statement and I can't. Every time I end up feeling hypocritical.

Re: The Adventures of TinTin - Secret of the Unicorn (Movie)

Just got out of the theatre! This movie was incredible. In typical Hollywood fashion the movie deviated fairly heavily from the original story, but in a very acceptable way that borrowed from the other books. The voices and animation of the characters was spot-on, exactly the way that I had imagined...

Your mouth tastes like the inside of a motorman's glove

I'm currently playing LSL1 & this phrase appears when you need a hit of breathspray. At first I was taken aback thinking "Hey, I swear that is right out of Infocom's Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". As it turns out, I was remembering incorrectly - and in fact I remembered it from playing LSL1 years...

Re: Ridley Scott's Prometheus

I watched one of trailers & it does have quite an Aliens (the second movie, not the first) look to it, the external shots, armored vehicles, etc. I really hope that it is more in the vein of Alien - a much more riveting movie than Aliens. It seems that the blend of horror/suspense & sci-fi genres ha...

Just a reminder that this picture was taken half a century ago. Aside from that, I agree :)
The tape recorder is 50 years plus, not the picture. Not the legs either, lol.
