Re: Dragon Age III (Dragon Age Inquisition)

I wasn't checking the forums much in early October, so I missed those articles. Interesting choices they've made. It certainly sounds like they're trying to make it more of a strategic-combat RPG. They're definitely going a bit more "old school" with some of their decisions, like removing the health...

Re: Questionable Posts.

Yeah, I prefer the darker colour schemes too. They are easier on the eyes and remind me of the old QFG board. Plus, I find them "cozier". The other thing I prefer about the Black Pearl is the width. On a widescreen monitor, I find it difficult to read the posts with the other skins, since they are s...

One of the ones I recall being the funniest was when Wynne accuses Alistair of ogling your character (if you're female and involved with Alistair). Plus, the one where she has a talk with him about where babies come from. :D

Re: Questionable Posts.

The spam button doesn't show in the black colour scheme skin.

I'm not complaining, just informing.

Oh, QFG! Nice artwork. I think the one with the Hero and the saurus is hilarious. :D

Re: Family life frozen in time

They look like adventure game backgrounds!

Some are pretty cool, but others are kind of creepy. It's a fine line between the two.

Good to see you around, Tin. *wave* :)

GK1 remake certainly qualifies for something new and cool (and Sierra-related)!

Re: Gabriel Knight 1 Remake (MGX)

I strongly suspected that MGX would be a GK1 remake, but I am pleasantly surprised by how good the backgrounds look. They really managed to capture the feel (and detail) of the original game, while being more up-to-date. I wish they'd make the St. George's Bookstore background available as a desktop...

Re: Videogame music

Game soundtracks can add so much to mood and immersiveness of a game world. I love a lot of game music, but I'll contain myself to listing only a few (for now). Quest for Glory 5 I loved the soundtrack and ambient music for this game. Silmarian Meanderings is one of my favourites: P4p3MXrXlO4 I also...

Re: What are you playing now?

No surprise that I'm still playing Guild Wars 2 . I just love exploring that world! Although DPX and I are still playing some co-op games (GW2 and Sanctum 2 ), we are also taking more time to enjoy our own individual gaming interests now. I have been on a Portal nostalgia kick lately and I'm thinkin...

Re: Intresting Links

Wow. I have a sudden urge to visit Europe via google street view. I hadn't really thought about it before, but that's really, really cool.

The other maps are really interesting too. I notice the Scandiavian countries seem to be the highest for a number of things.

Re: PushingUpRose's Top Ten Favorite Sierra Deaths

The nostalgia! I haven't played some of those for quite some time. I recall getting stuck in CB once and deciding to spend my time finding out how many ways Laura could die. That game was thorough! It was kind of awesome. One I particularly remember from Space Quest 3 was when you're on Ortega and y...

Re: A dream coming true :)

Wow. Cool!

After I played Kings Quest 4, my first graphical adventure, I decided I wanted to be a game designer like Roberta Williams. Alas, that particular childhood dream didn't come true.
