Re: The Brainless Box (aka Television Shows)

We didn't care for the main character of Grimm that much to begin with, but we liked the supporting cast and the premise, so we continued to watch. Nick does get more likable as the season progresses and the supporting cast can be quite entertaining. Plus, they do start to get more into the connecti...

Re: Avengers.

I didn't really have any expectations either way before going to see the Avengers, but I really, really enjoyed it. Very well balanced in terms of banter, humour, action, and characterisation. I think doing a separate movie for most of the characters ahead of time was a good idea. I was glad to see ...

Re: GUILD WARS 2 Discussion Thread.

So we spent a lot of the weekend playing Guild Wars 2 and really enjoyed it. Half the time we spent just exploring Divinity's Reach, an enormous city with a number of different areas (if Kirkwall had been half that awesome, no one would have complained). The game has this absolutely wonderful, whims...

Re: Dragon Age III

That was kind of a WTF?! moment for me as well and I wasn't really sure how to react. I think this is one area where they needed to show what was actually going in Kirkwall a little better. They needed to more clearly convey the amount of time that had passed and how long the situation had been fest...

Re: Dragon Age III

None of the endings in the ME series really give you a neat summary of all your choices for that game, so I see the ME3 ending as par for the series. During the game itself, it very carefully acknowledged the choices I made and their effect on the world. In fact, if you listen to people's conversati...

Re: Dragon Age III

Although I'm not a fan of BioWare being owned by EA, I don't think that DA3 being rushed is a given. ME3 had way fewer issues than DA2 and did not feel rushed to me and it came after DA2.

Re: Dragon Age III

I didn't like the gore of the exploding bodies at all, because I don't like gratuitous gore. Thankfully, someone had created a no gibbing mod and I applied it right away, so I didn't have to sit through it. Once that was gone, I actually liked the combat better than DAO. I thought it felt more fluid...

Re: Dragon Age III

I enjoyed DA2 a great deal and in many ways more than DAO. I thought the main storyline and the political/ethical focus was more interesting and a refreshing change from the usual epic fantasy fare. I liked how the characters behaved in a more contextual way, responding to events in the game when it...

Re: It's Official!

More great news! That will be a great deal of fun and I'm looking forward to it. Next the Coles? I think I'd have a fit if the Coles announced that they were making a new QfG style game. QfG and GK are my two favourite series. Actually, given the popularity of RPGs, that might get a wider audience t...

Re: Mass Effect 3...

So I finally finished ME3 on Sunday and, other than the usual post-game letdown (that it's over), I wasn't disappointed. Although I wouldn't say I loved the ending, I didn't dislike it either. It was a departure from the usual BioWare endings. I wasn't expecting BioWare to pull that (pick one of "x"...

Re: Jane Jensen opens herself to the public

I sincerely hope that she is able to produce a great game through this studio. I really enjoy her stories. One good thing I got from the GameSpot interview was that she felt the quality of Gray Matter wasn't up to par, due to her having less involvement in it than she would have liked. Although the ...
