Re: BioWare RPG Spoilers (please post them in here!)

Let's see... how about this? Deekin (at least in NWN1) is a great source of innocent merriment. ;)

Re: Hmmm... thoughts on Ad Avis

Hmmm... well, Ad Avis Jr. (unless I can find him a better name?) only starts out as "too evil". (After all, with a dad like Addy, how can anyone not be evil?) ;) But he quickly learns and soon, the evillest thing he does is play humourous and humiliating practical jokes on people that annoy him. >;)...

Re: Best Adventure Game Sidekick! (Round 2)

1. Cedric the Owl vs. Delphineus - Delphineus, because Cedric (to me) is the Sierra equivalent of Clippy. 2. Boogle vs. Horny the Frog - Boogle must win this to avenge the memory of the great Glottis! 3. Laverne vs. Droole - Laverne, possibly, because I don't know who Droole is. 4. Passionate Patti ...

Re: Hmmm... thoughts on Ad Avis

The thing is, I've started writing a new QfG story, set around the rise of Ad Avis's son, who is expelled from the Necromancers' Guild for being too evil. ;) As punishment, he is sent to try to save Spielburg... and this is as far as I've gotten with this. :\ I thought maybe thinking about what kind...

Re: National Novel Writing Month.

I haven't even heard of this (not surprising, since I'm not American). ;) What is it about? Why do you have to write so many words? etc. ;) I've been writing my own novel for about six or seven years now... it's more or less finished, although I'm still going through it and polishing it up, adding a...

Hmmm... thoughts on Ad Avis

What kind of wizard is Ad Avis, really? (All right, an evil one. :P But that's hardly a description). What I'm wondering more about is what kind of wizard he is - after all, his sole purpose is to raise up even more evil beings than he is (Avoozl, Iblis) which suggests that he is an invoker. But on ...

Re: Best Adventure Game Sidekick! (Round 1)

1. Crow. I never played either of the games he's in, but I have played KQ5, and Cedric was more of an irritation than a help. 2. n/a - haven't played either. 3. n/a - haven't played either. 4. I've played both, and Glottis is my favourite by far here. How can you not love a demon from hell who fixes...

Re: The Guessing Thread

I'd like to state for the record that I didn't participate... :( I just didn't have the energy or the imagination for this sort of thing. Maybe next time. ;)

Re: Hmmm... Windows 98 help.

Hmmm... well, I do have a Windows 98 CD-ROM (Second Edition) and a Win98 floppy boot disk. When I try to boot from this disk, everything is fine... however, it does not recognise any of the other drives (hard drives or DVD-ROM drive). :\ The autoexec.bat on the floppy reads as follows: " @echo off M...

Re: Hmmm... Windows 98 help.

The machine has a SATA interface (I checked). I had a word with a friend of mine on ICQ, who recommended that I forget the whole Windows 98 idea because (as he said) I shouldn't let a FAT32 drive be the master of an NTFS drive. He said that if I want to get rid of drive C (which I still do, since I ...

Re: Hmmm... Windows 98 help.

OK... I've had a look at hard drives today. The only thing available, apparently, are external hard drives - the smallest is 160 GB. If I install one of those, I would have drive C (running Win2K), drive D (WinXP) and drive G (Win98). I don't need three hard drives... is there a way to install the n...

Re: Hmmm... Windows 98 help.

Hmmm... if I buy a new hard drive, I'll have to swap it over for the one I currently have (since I only have 4 IDE controllers). Won't that cause similar boot sector problems to what Collector pointed out? *worried*

Hmmm... Windows 98 help.

OK, here's the situation: I'm currently dual-booting, using two hard drives (which I named C and D). Drive C is running Windows 2000; Drive D is running Windows XP (with Service Pack 2). What I want to do is install Windows 98 on drive C so that I can run old legacy games on it - QfG, Grim Fandango,...
