Re: Mortal Kombat 9 Goodness!

Yeah I spent a few weeks playing it, but just couldn't get into it. I was really excited when it was first released. I guess in general I think 3D fighters just feel weird. I can play Street Fighter 4 without issues, but contact between attacks and the other player just don't feel right to me like t...

Re: Ubisoft breaks Steam's TOS; Valve offers refunds

Some people on reddit are being told otherwise by Steam support.

Re: Mortal Kombat 9 Goodness!

I haven't really enjoyed a Mortal Kombat game since part four came out (four was the beginning of the end!). I tried MK9 but I just really didn't feel like learning a new fighting system. With that said, I've got an MK2 arcade pcboard that I've had for about 10 years. It still randomly gets played. ...

Re: Space Quest 3 EGA tag on side of box

Yeah I unfortunately picked up the slash versions of SQ2 and PQ2 as a teen, and they just look nasty next to the real thing. I wondered why the disk labels and packaging quality were so different for the longest time.

Space Quest 3 EGA tag on side of box

I was looking at copies of Space Quest 3 on eBay and noticed that all of them have a slightly different sticker/tag than the one my has on the side. Mine says "EGA" in big letters like the VGA games do. I'm guessing this is just a later version of the box?

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

Just found out that PoP does't like ykhwong's default dosbox.conf file and ps1audio needs to be set to off for PoP to reach the MT32.

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

Hey Collector, any idea why I can't get the built-in Munt MT32 to work with Prince of Persia or Legend of Kyrandia in ykhwong's DOSBox build? Prince of Persia defaults back to PC speaker and Kyrandia just doesn't produce any sound, but other games seem to work fine.

Re: How common are EGA releases of Sierra's VGA games?

Ooh, that's pretty cool. Is there any difference in the box art for the releases, or is there no way to tell other than seeing the disks?

What are the differences between the two KQ4 versions?

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Just couldn't wait for the other game to come in, so here's one I'm really excited about. Unfortunately part of the back is crushed in a bit, but at least the corners are fine. It's still sealed.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Nice. I still need to pickup KQ2 sometimes, and I somehow lost the disc to my Windows-only version of KQ7 when I was a kid. Big box PC games look so good.

Re: How common are EGA releases of Sierra's VGA games?

I ended up withe the EGA SQ1SCI because it was one of my earlier PC game purchases and didn't know what EGA/VGA meant.. plus I don't recall the store having another copy of SQ1 anyway. The EGA SQ4 was because I really enjoyed the SQ games and had finished 1-3 and 5, and really wanted to play 4, but ...
