Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I've got a couple more coming in the mail that I'm really excited about, but these are what came in today. I already had a complete Dark Forces, minus the game, so I picked up a nice disc/case only copy and now it's back to being fully complete. Rayman is the same situation, but the disc I got in th...

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

That worked. Thanks. :)

I must say, it has come a LONG way since I last heard it through emulation.

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

What I'm doing is loading DOSBox, and then going to Sound -> MIDI -> Device, and choosing the MT-32 option using ykhwong's latest SVN build.

Code: Select all

mpu401=intelligent
mididevice=default
midiconfig=
mt32ReverseStereo=off
mt32DAC=auto
mt32reverb.mode=auto
mt32reverb.time=5
mt32reverb.level=3

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

Yeah, I've had the roms since back before Canadacow got the first cease and desist stuff from Roland. I've got them sitting the root of the DOSBox folder. When I try to set the MIDI device to MT-32, the status window says: MT32:Couldn't find control files MIDI:Can't open device:mt32 with config:. I ...

How common are EGA releases of Sierra's VGA games?

I've got the remake of The Sarien Encounter as well as an original Time Rippers, but they're both the 16 color EGA versions of these games. Are these considered to be uncommon? Seems like all I can find online are the actual VGA releases of both of these. SQ1 is on 3.5" disks, while SQ4 is on 5.25" ...

Re: MT-32 Buffer Overflow and Checksum Errors

I was thinking about throwing together some sort of picture guide so people that don't own an MT-32 can see and more easily understand what is required to connect one. It's a mess of cables, but totally worth it for any PC game that supports it. I used to have issues with the older versions of DOSBo...

Re: Reading off my old 5.25" floppies...

I don't know if this would work with the CPC stuff, but found it interesting. You still have to provide power to the 5.25" drive via molex -- the guy in the article appears to be using an external drive enclosure to provide power. http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/2503 Looks like this place makes ...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Hello there. First post here. I just happened to stumble across these forums while looking for info on the Space Quest comic books. I've had #2 and #3 for years (found them in a comic book store in the 90's) and I was trying to find out what their value may be. I used to have a website with lots of ...
