In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!
I encountered this error in SQ4 when leaving the software store at the galleria (993.v56 not found). According to spacequest.net (http://www.spacequest.net/archives/sq4/fixes/
), I have to use the SQ4.bat file to start the game. I did use the Sierra Help Installer to setup the game, which doesn't appear to use this bat file (file doesn't even exist). Is there a fix for this? Or do I need to start over without using the installer so I have the bat file? I'm using the floppy disk version. Thanks for any help!

You are the first to report this error. As much as this particular installer has been downloaded speaks to how few probably play the floppy version. I have both, but only play the CD. This is a transitional game where Sierra changed their naming convention. The extra switches forces the interpreter to use the old naming convention so it can find the resources that are named in accordance with the old naming scheme.
The installer has been updated. Re-download it and do a clean install. You will not be able to use your old saves.
