Hunter Hunted - "internal game error"

Post by MartiusR » Sat Feb 16, 2019 4:39 pm

Since it's my first post - hello everybody!

I've got problems with launching Hunter Hunted. I'm using Windows 8.1, 64 bit version.

First, I've used setup file recommended in this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=837

Everything went fine, but when I'm trying to launch game, I've got always the same error:

After clicking on ok, game freezes and that's it.

I've tried with compatibility mode, but with no luck. No matter if I'm trying to launch the game through "Hunter Hunted.exe" (launcher) or "Hunter.exe" ("direct" game exe), it's always the same result.

I've even tried to use dgvoodoo (helps in many older games), but it also didn't help. I would be really grateful for help.

I have not tested it on anything later than Win7. Run the diagnostic tool and attach the log here and I'll take a look.

You are missing the second main resource file. Check your CD for any scratches or abrasions that may be making it hard to read the disc. You can try manually copying RESOURCE.002 from the "Hunter" folder on the CD into the installed directory.

Many thanks! I've thought that my CD is in perfect condition, turns out that there were some scratches (I didn't notice earlier), which made copying mentioned file impossible.

Fortunately, I've bought some "additional" CD (was available for low price on one auction service) and I could copy necessary file.

Big, big thanks for help!
