Beautiful. :D I love the details! :lol: The colour on the demon, on the hero's suit, on the lava ... question: what is that door across the lava?

"Slay demon"... Can't stop giggling at that. :lol:

Sierra's answer: "You can't do that."
OR
"Good idea. But first, get a little closer to the demon."

I should have done something like "talk to demon" and have a message box that says "I don't understand the word 'talk'." lol

The stuff in the background is supposed to be big broken down skyscrapers in the distance. The one on the left in significantly worse shape than the one on the right. I spent way more time on the sprites than I did the background hahaha.

That's fantastic! I can't wait to give this concept a try. Very creative!

The max score is a nice touch. What font is that?

The score font? It's the standard font Sierra used in their actual AGI games. The DOOM font I pixel edited myself for the image. It doesn't actually exist.

I believe that the fonts used simply the ones built into the graphics cards of the time. Isn't that why NAGI included those *.NBF font files?

I believe it's simply the old IBM CGA video screen font. Here's my TTF version of Sierra's AGI font:

(If you don't want to sign up to download, Tawmis, just PM me and I'll send you a copy...)

========================================

There are a bunch of other Sierra fonts that I and others have made there, too, all downloadable in TTF format:

Incidentally, Goatmeal, I used your Space Quest 3 title font for one of my 4k SQ3 backgrounds. Very helpful for quick authenticity!

Actually, you know I never thought about it then, but if you like I can give you credit for that.

Quick question - did you do this in AGI Studio or paint?

AGI Studio didn't have a PIC editor. Some of the later incarnations of it may have added it. People back then used Lance Ewing's DOS PIC Edit. WinAGI has one. The Visual AGI that I have probably has the best PIC editor I have used, even if the IDE is missing the logic backend and compiler.

I used Windows Linux AGI Studio (yes, it's a thing, a Windows port of a Linux program) which does have a Pic editor and still works in Windows 10, even if it is a bit buggy now. And used the view edtor for the sprites. The rest I 'shopped together and touched up in post on top of an SQ2 screenshot.
