Blue Force Question.

Talk about games or general tech issues that are not Sierra related.

It is the ALT key. I kept doing it until it happened again. (And what's funny is the game tends to "lag" doing other functions - so when I right click in the game to get the menu to walk, look, save, etc) - it takes a moment. Pressing the ALT key fixed it. So it must think the ALT key is being held down and drilling the game with it. But like I said, well at least this time, tapping the ALT key again fixed it. Not a big deal at all, even in the first place. Just don't want to go into my garage and dig out all the police codes, so I was using a website that had a walk thru with the police codes. :)

Run the game in a Window, hook up a 2nd monitor or print out the codes from the website?

Second monitor would be ideal. If I had the money (and really, the space). I have since written down the codes. But like I said, not a big deal, now that I know it is the ALT key and tapping it again resolves it.

weird. I think there is actually code in DOSBox to send a fake alt-release when you switch back to it (and alt was pressed before)
Maybe we can run some test together..

Sure! I wouldn't mind. Let me know what you need from me.

It's actually the TAB button that doesn't appear to be "releasing" - because I was able to replicate it again, today, and after I tapped the tab twice - the text would be normal again.

That said, if no one else has ever reported it, it could be an issue with the keyboard itself.

Finally completed Blue Force for the first time.

I realize, I never got further than Day 3 and the island (with the dog, because I never figured out how to pass the dog). It took the walk thru to see an item that I easily missed.

Then leaving, I messed up this time around (even though the game tells you to cover your tracks, I didn't).

So one more peek and I saw what I did wrong.

But at long last...

Done.

How long ago was it when you first tried to play this?

I got BLUE FORCE when it first came out. The original I have is on disk. I found it later on CD, and bought it (when computers moved away from floppies).

I have played it on and off, since then, here and there. Sometimes for 10 to 30 minutes.

The dog on the island is where, when I first played, I got stuck. I could not figure out how to get past the dog on Day 3.

Even this time around, I couldn't. So I had to check a walk thru. And the item in question, needed to get past that dog, is really easy to miss.

I know that you are aware that it is a Jim Walls game, but don't forget that Tsunami in general was started by refugees from Sierra.

I picked it up because it was a Jim Walls game. What other games did Tsunami make? Any you'd recommend? I am now trying to reply Legend of Kyrania (I had them all on CD, but quite some time ago, all three became available on GoG.com and I picked it up from there... so since I finished Blue Force, I figured I'd return to them...) Once I go through those three, I actually plan on daring a return to Codename: Iceman because Josh sent me a detailed walk thru he made. See if that gets me past the part of the sub I was stuck on.

Tsunami Media, Inc. was founded by Edmond Heinbockel in the summer of 1991. The company was based in Oakhurst, California, adjacent to Yosemite National Park, a place well-known in gaming history. The company location wasn't a coincidence, as Heinbockel had been CFO of Sierra On-Line.

There were not too many before they folded.

I am rather fond of the Ringworld games, based on the Larry Niven Ringworld series, just as Halo was. If you noticed, they are the other two Tsunami game that I have made installers.
