Quick question re: Dragon Age: Origins...

Hmm... so I'm wondering. Does anyone know if it's possible to play DAO without the DVD (legally, of course)? I've purchased the Ultimate Edition of DAO, so I have the DVD - however, I know that it's possible with some games to just install the game (to verify that it's a legal copy), after which you can just play without having to worry about the DVD. ;)

I've checked various sources (Yahoo answers, social.bioware forums), and the official word from Bioware is that no, you cannot. However, this particular official word(TM) is from Nov 18, 2009 - so it may be out-of-date. Does anyone know if things have changed since then? :)

Thanks!

I don't have the Ultimate Collection - but I'd wager the answer is still no as a means of preventing piracy or whatever.

If you bought the game through a digital service, like Steam or Origin, then you don't need the DVD because there'd be no DVD to use. All the content would be downloaded and installed.

If you have the stand-alone version, then no, there is no legal way of playing the game without using the disc.
