I have further developed the GK2 DOSBox installer. It now comes with a wizard to convert the installed folder into a package ready to burn to DVD. The end result has an autoplay that mimics the original autoplay, but initializes quickly. It detects if the game has already been installed. If it finds that it is not, it gives the option to install. If the game has already been installed you can start it from the autoplay dialog. When installing, you can choose between full harddrive install (no disc required for play) or minimal install (DVD needed for play, but with no disc swapping).

You have to first install the game with the original CDs. The installer will concatenate the resources of all 6 CDs. You can then use the included utility to convert the installed folder that the contents can then be burned to DVD.

Hey Collector. If you want we can continue the issue here.

You might want to check that address at the README of the GK2 new installer since it takes you to the Phantasmagoria one.

Thanks.

I seem to have encountered a bug. The game has crashed on me a few times, but this has not happened often, and I was able to progress after reloading. Unfortunately, I am faced with a seemingly impassible glitch at the Ludwig Museum. Whenever I try to pull back from looking at the painting of Elizabeth, the game crashes. Is there something I can do to work around this?

If you have a save game from the room before the crash, upload it here and I will take a look.

Posted. It wouldn't let me post it as is, so I compressed it through WinRAR.

You need to post the catalog file, too. It's GK2SG.CAT.

Can someone (preferably Collector) :D please post conf.exe here for GK2? It didn't install to my GK2 folder probably because I already had DOSBox installed from the phantasmagoria installer. Hopefully, that's all i need though I'm not positive what other files may have been skipped. Unisci.exe retained it's settings from the phantasmagoria install so this install went off without a hitch, just missing conf. I think.

I also seem to have encountered a similar problem with the knights of St. George portrait. I'm beginning to think that I should re-install the game, in case something went wrong the first time.

It does seem as if there might be some missing files in your install folder. Be sure that your discs are in good shape, no scratches, abrasions, etc. If there are, try copying them to your harddrive and burning new disc(s) or images from the copied files.

I'll give it a try ASAP. Unfortunately, ASAP right now evens out to about 2 weeks :( I'll make sure to post if this gets results.
