which is better
Do you like the Sierra creative interpretor or the Advanced creator interpretor more. Sci was used on later adventure games and agi was for the earlier ones. Which do you prefer. I personally prefer to use the Sci as I prefer clicking over typing but still there are times where I would rather type than click.

Re: which is better
i voted SCI, but shouldn't SCI be two options? SCI parser and SCI point-n-click?

I prefer SCI as well. I hit so many roadblocks in the earlier parser games because they condition you not to use certain words with "You can't do that" statements. Then you get later games that actually use those words, but you have no idea.
Re: which is better
SCI because it's a bit more flexible in controlling the character.

Re: which is better
I voted SCI because AGI is painful to look at. Maybe that's not the best answer in the world, but after viewing top notch graphics engines in modern games, going back to AGI is a real shock.

Re: which is better
AGI stands for Adventure Game Interpreter, BTW. This is a little unfair comparison. You are talking about engines from to very different eras. SCI replaced the older AGI engine because of the advances in hardware. SCI would have hardly been possible on the machines that AGI was originally designed for. Comparing the graphics would be like comparing the graphics of a VGA game with some of the modern games.abyss wrote:Do you like the Sierra creative interpretor or the Advanced creator interpretor more. Agi was great in fact but I just prefered the sci. It doesn't mean I always choose graphics as an importance. When I have the option I always pick cga or hercules. Hercules just works so well for adventure titles.

Heracles works in a pinch, too.abyss wrote:Agi was great in fact but I just prefered the sci. It doesn't mean I always choose graphics as an importance. When I have the option I always pick cga or hercules. Hercules just works so well for adventure titles.

Well I like both of em. What I like about the Parcer SCI that you can type something on the spur of the moment and have a less likely of dieing because it pauses the game for a sec while you type. With Agi either you have to be a fast typist on the spur of the moment type situations or have to type the command in before hand. Well graphics wise I like SCI whether point and click or parcer because the graphics are so much clearer that AGI. One example is the rare version of Kq4agi.
