Munt Installers for Sierra Games

Post by Collector » Sun Aug 02, 2020 7:50 pm

These are new installers for a few Sierra games that include a Munt enabled build of DOSBox (Enhanced Community Edition). This was originally in the non-Sierra installer thread, but I have now given them their own thread. I have updated these installers. Not only do these allow you to experience these games with the best possible sound, DOSBox ECE also gives the proper even and proportioned pixels for the best visual experience. DOSBox ECE no longer uses Ant_222's "Pixel Perfect" patch but uses the new "GLSL shader" from the current SVN build of official DOSBox.

I did not add the following to the installer page because of their extra requirement of the required the MT32_CONTROL.ROM and MT32_PCM.ROMs because of the questionable status of the their IP. Originally I required these ROMs to be provided by the user and to be present on installation. They now include the required ROM files for Munt. All you need to do is download and run these installers with your own copy of the games.

Note that these are not fully tested, so report any issues you might find so I can fix them.

Question - what if we already have the games installed with a previous installer? Is there any way to just extract these new installers and drop them on the existing folder? (Rather than digging out the CDs or disks again?)

You could try to drop the installer in your existing installation and run it from there, but no guarantee there won't be issues.
