ok i know this isn't a sierra game, but i am having some problems. i have searched everywhere and read about all these people having problems with their bootleg copies and how they fix it. well i just purchased a legal version from ebay for quite a bit and can not get it working right. it installed ok but i can't get the screen size larger no matter what i do, and even playing with the small screen, as soon as the game starts it crashes. i know this probably isn't the best place to look for help, but your my last hope. it is a windows 3.1 game, yeah its old but its a classic. please help. oh and its the cd version, 1.51 i think. i hope someone can help. thanks in advance.

I don't know the game. But it seems that there was also a DOS version. Try it in DOSBox. If your copy did not ship with the DOS interpreter, you could try to hunt down a copy of the Win3x installation disks and install Win3x in it to install the game.

ok i took your advice. i got it working some what. is there any way to set it up in DBGL to start the game in win 3.11?? i followed the guide here and got 3.11 set up with video drivers and sound drivers. or maybe even a way to make a shortcut to do it. i'm afraid its a little over my head. but any more tips would be great.

Use the conf- switch with a DOSBox shortcut to point to a custom DOSBox.conf. Mount the folder for your "C:" drive that has the Windows 3x installation folder in it and your CD drive, if needed in the autoexec section. After the mountings, add:

CD WINDOWS
win

Change WINDOWS to what ever you named the Windows folder. The shortcut should start DOSBox and load Win3x. If you want the game to start automatically, add a shortcut to the game in the Startup Group.

great!!! i got the shortcut working and it loads games when it starts!!! thanks alot!!! now is there any way to get this setup to work in DBGL?? it would be nice to have it added to my list of games.

Setup a profile and edit the conf to the one you just made.

omg, i am an idiot!! lol

ok i was just making things harder than they had to be. seems once i got the shortcut in win 3.1 start up all i had to do was set the launcher to load windows instead of the game. ok its working great now, thanks!! next question, does this mean i need to have a different install of win 3.1 for every game i want to start right up, or is there some work around for this??

No, but the simple solution of a shortcut in the Windows Startup Group is no possible for multiple games. You could experiment with unique batch files for each game that you place in the base of the emulated "C:\" drive and call the desired bat from the conf for each game.
